Previously on the RowdyBoys:
It’s 2:20 am, the aid will only last until 8 am. Things are at their darkest hour. 20 bad men to the north of the road in a 5 by 4 formation, and 10 bad men to the south, set up shop 50 feet outside the main gate. This can only mean bad things will happen from these bad men. But, we gots other business to attend to. While trying to find the governor, the Dragon comes back. (BOO!)
We have a long talk with the Governor, Red, and the Sergeant, who want to talk to our best friend Ryu. We make some stuff up, feeding them all sort of information which is very useful but these needy bishes want more. What’s the bad lady’s name, why are we being attacked, are we going to survive? UGH.. so needy.
After Ea does some monkey business against the bad men outside the gate (which did nothing? Maybe? We weren’t there to see), we express the need to get going and leave via the tunnel, past the keeps rowdy boys, reminding the Governor to only blow his horn if the forces outside the gate try to breech the gate. And that we might not come back quickly. Then we out.
Following our expert plan to check on Kaiden’s horse, we run into SHE. The true dark power behind all this, Imoen. Imoen has left our safe place, found some people and made a new safe space, which isn’t a terrible idea but there is no way she can know that. She leads us to her new evil lair, a house closer to the tunnel, where she has found a few more families and part of the town guard. And then he walked in, tall.. blonde.. well built with an armband around his bulging bicep and a weird red drake necklace. He said he was Hiliam of the town guard and that he wanted to know what was going on. We all played hard to get, and quizzed him to make sure that he wasn’t evil and was really part of the town guard. Of course he passed, why wouldn’t he. Thankfully, Imoen took Crispin outside and away from Hiliam, so that she could show that she killed a dragon dog. UGH, useful actions from her should be punished, but Crispin is clearly sweet on her and praises her.
Back inside, the bloom is off the lily because Hiliam proves that he is a racist by asking Ryu if he knows all these dragonborn. SO RUDE. They also want to know where the secret entrance to the keep is, but we don’t tell them for their own safety because there is no way they won’t get seen if they head there. So they are better off staying here. We convince Imoen to make a backpack out of a crate and some rope, tie that to Ryu to make a Kellin perch. Before we head out, Kaiden is all up on Hiliam about his necklace, and Hiliam says his ‘country cousin’ gave it to him. So shady.
To complete out look, we dirty up some sheets for Ryu, Crispin uses a disguise kit, and I get a perch with light on my shield. We bounce depressing house without Imoen, and head to the mill.
The Mill is oddly quiet, and Crispin decides to scout the Mill. He vanishes before our eyes, and runs amok in the mill – putting out lights, not opening secret drawers that have magic loot in them. The usual. The mill seems empty, but we work as a team to make a convincing illusion that would spring any trap. But there is not trap, the mill is boring and we leave. Across the river toward Richy RIches estate. On the way, we see a bunch of panicked people, and through illusion whispers, tell them to head south to Imoen cuz the keep ain’t safe. We find another house with screaming people inside, and in the most heroic and dramatic fight of the night, save them and Ea gets stabbed by bad guys.
2:45 am, we arrive to the estate, where the place is looted, but the front gate is locked. Were they clever and made it look like the place was looted? We shall see. While Crispin works the front lock, Ae jumps the wall… tries some cool stuff and fails, so she just goes back to drawing circles and houses on things. We search the main house, which is empty and head to the guest house where we find the cigar smoking man and his sweet scotch. Behind the guest house is the collapsed wall which makes more sense why the place is looted. We have a friendly talk with Sir Markus Gauwalt and Kaiden bravely rescues the man’s cigar after being shot by Sir G. The scotch didn’t make it. Then Sir Gauwalt threatens to shoot us all, and we are all like “Nope!” and then we leave him to wallow in his misery. Off to our real end goal, finding Leosin and Ryu has a bunch of random loot in a bag. Disguise complete!
