Previously, on the Rowdyboys…
After returning to Greenest (see offline discussion), the party splits up to try to keep everyone happy. Kaiden and Ryu escort Leosin back to the Penguin’s lair, while Kellin, Crispin and Ea stay at the keep. Kellin and Crispin get their own rooms, and Ea decides to get some party drugs from Red’s room.
Meanwhile, Leosin is eager to get wit his boy Nesim, and goes around back to get in. While Kaiden and Ryu wait about half a second before going to check on how things are going. SHE is there. She is all up in Kaiden’s business sharing her adventures and wondering if her true love Crispin is Ok.
After an uncomfortable night of sleeping for Kaiden and Ryu, and a pretty good night for eveyone else, we gather together and discuss. Mainly, Kellin discusses how much a fool Leosin is for wanting to head out on his own, after that worked so well the last time. Leosin swears that he will steal a horse somewhere, which is pretty much no beuno and we end up giving him our spare horse so that he doesn’t immediately die or get captured on the road.
The Governor shows up and immediately rips us off. His promise of money was complete bunk and he gives us ‘promissory’ notes for money elsewhere. Ea does some clever bargaining, and we hope these notes are worth more than the paper they are written on. Kellin seems very dubious about all this money promise stuff. Goods you can hold. Promises, not so much.
Leosin gets his father christmas on and hands out a bunch of scrolls, most of which go to Crispin, the swiss army spellcaster. Ea makes some weird bargain for a bronze pan or pot, then swindles Falconmoon for more stuff but turns over the cart we totally stole. Money laundering through the church is a time honored practice. Also, we learn that some people worship Bane, and that’s not going to be good for us.
We part ways, and we all head back to the camp in the rain, park our horses back in our cave where we left the dead bodies, but the dead bodies aren’t there. We climb up the rises to our perch point and watch Kate Beckinsale (nee Lennithon the blue dragon) grab big carts of loot and fly off with lots of the camp following. Most of the buildings are on fire or burnt out, and it seems the cult has decided to move on. We see lots of tracks for paths out of this place, but the cave is our main goal. There are two tents left, and some dudes are hanging out and smoking in the rain near these tents. So we just walk in like we own the place and head to the unoccupied, not burnt tent. This makes the hunters or whatever they are real mad cuz cultists are supposed to be in their stuff. Ea does her best to charm and fool them while Ryu praises Tiamat. They shoo us away to the cave.
We are met by a guard at the cave entrance who mocks us for being bad initiates who are unworthy because everyone left us behind. Crispin attempts to awesomely command them, but it fails and we fight. We kill them, but not before one of them tries to warn everyone that we are here. Kellin attempts to unwarn them with some trickery, but we don’t know how successful that was. A few more people show up, and we kill them while Ea looks at some dead bodies at the bottom of a cliff.
